Deepika Padukone is Louis Vuitton’s first-ever Indian brand ambassador, the French luxury house announced on Tuesday. Deepika joined Emma Stone and Chinese actor Zhou Dongyu to unveil the brand’s new leather goods campaign for the Dauphine bag.

“Following a strong collaborative relationship with Maison… the award-winning actress begins an exciting new chapter of her journey with Louis Vuitton,” the fashion house said in a press release.

Besides being regularly spotted sporting Louis Vuitton outfits and bags, the 36-year-old actress has previously modeled for the brand. In 2020, Deepika became the first Indian actor to feature in a campaign for the label. She posed for a mock vintage book cover alongside stars like Léa Seydoux and Sophie Turner.

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is all set to represent India at the 75th Cannes Film Festival as a jury member. The actress is a part of an eight-member jury at the 75th edition of the prestigious film festival which reviews and rewards films. Deepika is now resuming her duties there as she was spotted leaving Mumbai on Monday.

The Cannes 2022 jury will be presided over by French actor Vincent Lindon. Other names to join Deepika Padukone on the jury include Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace, actress screenwriter producer Rebecca Hall, Italian actress Jasmine Trinca, French director Ladj Ly, American director Jeff Nichols and director Joachim Trier from Norway.
